Job description

• Ensuring proper and safe navigation by inland barge within the Netherlands and internationally – Rhine area.
• Carriage of technical oil (not being dangerous cargo).
• Communicating with other shipping traffic and sectors.
• Bearing co-responsibility for ship repair policy, administration and staff planning aboard the vessel.

Requirements

• MBO (intermediate vocational education) or HBO (higher vocational education) level of working and thinking.
• Experience as a captain in inland navigation is definitely an advantage.
• Good communication skills in Dutch, German and English.
• Problem-solving way of thinking.
• Knowledge of and adherence to Inland Waterways Police Regulations and Rhine Police Regulations.
• In possession of a radar patent (radar navigation certificate), commercial vessels master’s certificate, Rhine patent (Rhine navigation license), ADN certificate and VHF certificate.
